Tanglewood

Since 2013, we have performed construction management services at the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts. Building monitoring at Ozawa Hall had revealed extensive staining, as well as numerous areas where masonry cracks were developing. Matching brick had to be found for the repair of the lintels. Retrofit ties were installed throughout the fields of brick on all elevations. In addition, the west balcony and low roofs at the east side had to be refurbished, and drainage conditions had to be enhanced. Over three years, this project totaled about $3 million.

Prior to this work, we performed significant American with Disabilities Act work at Ozawa Hall, including the installation of swing arm and removable seats, aisle beveling, along with new rails, new doors and door hardware. A campus-wide handicap accessibility renovation was also performed under the supervision of designers William Rawn and Deborah Ryan. We also performed work designed by Ann Beha Associates for the 2008 exterior restoration of their Historic Tappan House, one of the original Berkshire Cottages.

We have worked in the Chamber Music Hall, both gift shops, constructed or renovated multiple practice rooms and sheds, installed a full fire-sprinkler protection system at  Seranak, and re-modeled the BSO’s Opera Theater facility, both structurally and for American with Disabilities Act compliance.
